Elateridae of the British Isles

Dicronychus equisetioides Lohse, 1976

Size – 7.5-9.5mm.

Description – Uniform black over the head, pronotum and elytra. Longitudinal rows of pits are obvious running the length of the elytra. The legs are predominantly black, with yellowish tarsi. The antennae are black, extending just to the posterior margin of the pronotum.

Distribution – Confined to south Wales, mostly along the coast from Tenby to Porthcawl. Isolated others from Somerset and Devon.
